We are looking for a Bicycle Mechanic that believes in our mission and strives for excellence. As a Bicycle Mechanic, you are an integral part of the what makes Local Hub Bicycle Company a special place. You sell, perform, and educate customers on the servicing of bicycles, related components, and accessories. You consistently provide excellent customer service and also go the extra step whether working on a pro team race bike or a kid’s bike. You have a passion for cycling and the ability to inspire people to ride and are a team player as well as a quick learner. You work closely with store management and service department mechanics to raise the service center bar.
Required Skills, Experiences, and Qualities:
– 1 to 5 years of demonstrated history as a skilled bike mechanic with significant competency in all aspects of bike mechanics and repair. Experience as a service manager a plus.
– Excellent customer service skills and enthusiasm to demonstrate our upbeat, friendly shop culture and atmosphere.
– Desire to work in a fast paced environment, excellent time management skills, great organizational skills, ability to multi-task and dedication to meeting deadlines.
– Must prioritize high quality work and safety
– Positive attitude and team player a must.
-Technical “guru” status and cycling enthusiast ideal!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Manage all aspects of repair work-flow: intake, job prioritization, service part order management, timely completion and QA of all work.
-Lead service team in all bicycle and store service functions.
-Create repair tickets using POS system exclusively with good time and cost accuracy.
-Ensure shop operates with high efficiency and high quality standards are met. -Stay up to date on all of our shop brand offerings and on cycling industry.
-Placing special orders for repairs and help customers choose replacement parts.
-Complete tune-ups and repairs efficiently and with high quality.
-Assist with general store tasks including the following: opening/closing of store, resolving customer service/POS issues, participating in community/marketing events and ongoing staff meetings to improve department and company.
-Assist with and teach bike maintenance classes.
-Monitor and maintain inventory of service department parts and tools.
-Provide feedback to store buyers on bike lines and other products.
